Adventure Elopement in Washington: Seaplane, Lighthouse Vows, Boat Cruise & Mount Rainier

Adventure Barbie & Ken: Seaplane, Lighthouse, Boat, and Mt. Rainier Elopement

Caitlyn & Kevin set out to make their Washington elopement unforgettable — and they left no adventure behind! From flying in a seaplane, to exchanging vows at a lighthouse, to a private boat dinner cruise, and finally standing among the wildflowers of Mt. Rainier… they truly did it all.

Just like Barbie & Ken, these two go everywhere and do everything — so why would their elopement be any different? Now, Washington holds a piece of their hearts forever, and they’ll always have these memories to return to. Every detail of their day was thoughtful, intentional, and true to who they are. We’re honored to have been part of it — not just as photographers, but as friends.

Getting Ready in a French-Inspired Airbnb

The day began in the dreamiest little Airbnb that looked like a chateau straight out of France. Caitlyn and Kevin got ready together, which made the morning so special and intimate. Kevin helped Caitlyn into her dress, and they even shared a little dance in the morning light pouring through the window.

Seaplane Adventure to Patos Island

Next stop: Seattle’s iconic Kenmore Air, best known for its seaplane rides to the San Juan Islands and beyond. These flights are perfect for anyone planning a unique elopement in Washington — from secluded island getaways to alpine mountain adventures.

Caitlyn and Kevin chose Patos Island, a hidden gem with a lighthouse overlooking the ocean. They exchanged vows at the lighthouse as the tide came in — the most romantic setting you can imagine. Afterward, we boarded the seaplane again and returned to Seattle to continue the celebration.

Sunset Boat Cruise & Private Dinner

For the second half of their day, Caitlyn and Kevin changed into sleek evening outfits and boarded a private 1940’s boat for a sunset dinner cruise around Lake Union and Lake Washington. This setting was pure romance — vintage charm, sweeping water views, and an unforgettable four-course dinner prepared by Chef Tim, owner of Enchantress Cruises.

As the sun dipped below the skyline, these two looked iconic standing at the bow of the boat, soaking in every magical moment. It was the perfect, relaxing way to end such an adventurous day.

Day Two: Mount Rainier Adventure Elopement

But their adventure didn’t stop there! On day two, Caitlyn and Kevin switched gears and headed to Mount Rainier National Park. We hiked around Tipsoo Lake, frolicked in the wildflowers, and watched alpenglow light up the mountain — known natively as Tahoma.

This part of their elopement was pure Pacific Northwest magic. From alpine meadows to sweeping mountain views, it was the perfect way to end their two-day celebration.

Why Washington is the Perfect Place to Elope

If you’re dreaming of an elopement that combines adventure, romance, and unforgettable landscapes, Washington State is one of the best places in the world to say “I do.” From seaplanes to secluded islands, from private boats to epic mountain peaks — your elopement can truly be anything you imagine.

Caitlyn and Kevin’s day is proof that you don’t have to choose between elegance and adventure. You can have both — and make your wedding a once-in-a-lifetime experience.
